Stefanos Koundouras
Ass. Professor, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
Born in Thessaloniki in 1970, he graduated from the School of Agriculture (Division Plant Production) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1993. He obtained his MSc in Viticulture (D.E.A. Oenologie-Ampelologie, 1995), the Diplome National d¢Oenologue (D.N.O., 1996) and Doctorat in Viticulture (1999) from the University Victor Segalen Bordeaux II (France). He has professional experience (2001-2004) as consultant in the viti-vinicultural industry. He worked as Lecturer (2004) and later as Assistant Professor (2010) in the Laboratory of Viticulture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also worked as invited Professor in Viticulture at the Technological Institute of Thessaloniki (until 2004) and in the School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Thessaly (until 2012). He has been author and co-author of over 45 per-reviewed research articles and announcements in international and Greek congresses. He also offered numerous presentations in seminars in Greece and in Cyprus. He has been scientific responsible in 3 research projects funded by the private sector or GSRT and he has worked as member of the research group in other projects. He is the Scientific Secretary (2010-2012) of the Expert Group “Management and Innovations of Viticultural Techniques” of the Commission “Viticulture” of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV, Paris).
