Diego Tomasi

Born 08/03/1960. Graduated in Agricultural Science at the University of Padua. From 1990 he obtained the permanent position, covering the Research position by CRA-VIT “Research Centre for Viticulture” in Conegliano (TV). Since his enrolment his research has focused on the relationship between the vine and its environment. He leaded several zoning studies and several projects related to the optimization of viticulture techniques and viticulture areas. Since 2000 he is member of the OIV (Organisation international de la vigne et du vin) Italian delegation, giving his contribution in the “vine physiology, zoning and climate change” group. In 1996 he spent 7 months at the Department of Viticulture and Oenology, University of Davis (California) and in 2009 three months at the South Oregon University; during these periods he improved his knowledge on vine physiology and climate change. In 2004 he was elected Academic Member at the Italian Academy of Vine and Wine. He participated at several national and international Conferences, presenting scientific and more popular works. Author and co-author of more than 130 scientific publications in national and international journals, including some books with zoning and environmental (landscape) topics. In 2010 he organized and was president of the VIII International Terroir meeting held in Veneto
